🎃 2026 Halloween Horror Game Jam Time to Get Jammed ;) Welcome to the very first 404Nerds Game Jam! For our first jam, we're celebrating my favorite holiday: Halloween! Your goal is simple: create a game that's fun, spooky, weird, creepy, or Halloween-themed. It can have some scares, but we're aiming for something that a broad audience can enjoy—so keep it PG-13. Make a haunted house, a goofy monster adventure, a creepy puzzle game, a spooky platformer, a survival game, or something completely unexpected. 2D or 3D—it's your choice. Most importantly: have fun with it! 👻 Rules 🚫 No AI-generated content on the front end of your game. This includes artwork, music, sound effects, videos, written descriptions, dialogue, and other content that players directly see, hear, or read. 🔪 Keep it PG-13. Spooky and scary are absolutely welcome, but no excessive gore, nudity, explicit sexual content, or other material inappropriate for players 14+. 🎮 Your submission must be playable. Submit a completed game or a playable demo. It should be functional from beginning to end without major or game-breaking bugs. 📅 Submit by October 30, 2026. Your game must be submitted by the deadline to qualify for voting. 🗳️ Voting begins November 1, 2026. After Halloween, we'll vote on the submitted games! 🔗 Host your game somewhere safe. 404Nerds will not host game files directly. Submit a link to your game on a trusted platform such as itch.io or Steam. Links to files hosted through services such as Google Drive may require approval. 🕹️ Engines & Tools Your game can be 2D or 3D, and there are no restrictions on the game engine or development tools you use. Godot? Great. Unity? Go for it. Unreal? Absolutely. Something you built yourself in a basement fueled entirely by caffeine and poor decisions? We want to see it.
